Miguel serves as Program Director for CVLIA at University of Chicago Crime Lab. He previously held the position of Vice President, Global Philanthropy at JPMorgan Chase. In this role there, he focused on the firm’s workforce efforts, helping to create and advance equitable growth strategies aimed at addressing skills and career pathways gaps for students and workers from underrepresented communities. Miguel brings over 20 years of experience to the University of Chicago, with an extensive background in program implementation and grants management for high-impact economic and educational initiatives. Most recently, he worked as Senior Program Officer at Heartland Alliance in Chicago. He also served as Director of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships at READI Chicago, Director of TRIO-Economic Opportunity Center at National Louis University, Director of Community & Economic Development at Enlace Chicago and Director of Multicultural Student Service at Lewis University. Miguel is earning his PhD at National Louis University, and earned his Master’s degree at Northeastern Illinois University and Bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois Chicago.
